What to Expect from a Design Consultation — Inside Our Miri Interiors Design Intensive

What to Expect from a Design Intensive

If you’ve ever stood surrounded by joinery samples, benchtop swatches or colour palettes, unsure which direction to take, you’ll understand how overwhelming design decisions can feel. Many homeowners and renovators come to me with plenty of ideas—but they’re unsure how to pull them together cohesively.

At Miri Interiors, we call ours a Design Intensive: a focused, 90-minute session that delivers clarity, direction, and tangible outcomes. It’s everything a design consultation should be—just more structured, more detailed, and more personalised.

It’s the perfect option if you’re not ready for a full design package but want professional, tailored advice you can act on straight away.

INTERIOR CONSULTATION

how it works?

Every Design Intensive begins with a complimentary 20-minute Zoom call. This quick chat helps define your project scope, understand what you’re hoping to achieve, and clarify exactly what to prepare—plans, photos, inspiration or finishes—so that our time together is strategic and productive.

When we meet on site (either at your home or the project address), we dive straight in. Together, we review your plans, discuss your ideas, explore joinery layouts, materials and colours, and look at samples in person. Sometimes this involves sketching, sometimes comparing materials side by side, or refining selections that have felt “almost right” but not quite.

Throughout the session, the focus is on problem-solving, refining and visualising—so you leave with a clear direction, not more questions.

Afterward, you’ll receive a comprehensive digital recap. It includes imagery to help you visualise the ideas we discussed, along with notes and curated links to the products and suppliers referenced in your session. It’s a practical, actionable roadmap you can confidently move forward with.

what you’ll gain

Clients often describe the Design Intensive as the turning point in their project. They leave feeling lighter, confident and relieved—often saying they wish they’d booked sooner. By the end of your session, you’ll have:

  • A refined layout or joinery direction that truly works for your space

  • Clear material and finish selections you feel excited about

  • Renewed energy and confidence to move forward, saving both time and money on costly mistakes
